Carolina Briceño Melendez is a researcher in the R&D Project INTENT and a PhD student in Civil Engineering at the University of Minho (Portugal). Her research background involves experimental mechanics, numerical analysis, and non-destructive testing, with extensive experience in laboratory testing for material characterization. She has been deeply involved in the development and execution of experimental methodologies for assessing construction materials.
In addition to her research work, Carolina has also been a professor at Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and University of San Ignacio de Loyola in Peru, where she taught structural engineering courses and supervised undergraduate research projects. Her expertise includes the study of historical and modern structures, as well as the assessment of structural integrity using both experimental and computational approaches.
