António Correia and Ionut Moldovan organize a minisymposium at the ISC 7 Conference in Barcelona

Between 18th and 21st of June, the 7th International Conference on Geotechnical and Geophysical Site Characterization took place in Barcelona. The conference gathered experts and practitioners in the areas of geotechnical characterization, with special emphasis on in situ mechanical and geophysical testing tools and procedures.

It was the 7th edition of this conference since 1998, with the previous editions taking place in Atlanta (1998), Porto (2004), Taipei (2008), Recife (2012), Gold Coast (2016) and Budapest (2021).

In collaboration with Erdin Ibraim from the University of Bristol, INTENT's researchers António Correia and Ionut Moldovan organized the minisymposium Experimental and Numerical Techniques for the Advanced Dynamic Laboratory Characterization of Geomaterials at the ISC 7. The session was quite successful with contributions from Argentina, Chile, India, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the USA.

During this session, Ionut Moldovan also presented a paper on the Impact of damping boundaries on the quality of the output signal in bender element experiments. The paper can be found in the Publications tab.
