We are delighted to announce that Joyce Chidassicua has successfully completed her Master of Science in Civil Engineering, becoming the first MSc graduate to carry out her dissertation within the framework of the INTENT Project. This achievement marks an important milestone for the project and for the growing integration of advanced research into graduate education.
Her dissertation, “Modelling Sensorised Granular Layers of Road Pavements”, directly contributes to the scientific objectives of INTENT by addressing the numerical modelling and optimisation of protective solutions for bender elements embedded in road pavements. Through advanced hybrid-Trefftz finite element modelling, her work helps bridge the gap between sensor protection during construction and reliable wave propagation for continuous infrastructure monitoring .
This first INTENT-linked MSc graduation is a moment of pride for the entire consortium. It reflects the project’s commitment not only to cutting-edge research in intelligent infrastructure monitoring, but also to training and empowering the next generation of engineers and researchers. Congratulations to Joyce on this outstanding achievement — and here’s to many INTENT graduates to come!
